Society honors outstanding contributors to nuclear field
The most recently named ANS Fellows are:
Stephen E. Binney
Binney's citation acknowledges his "distinguished service to nuclear engineering education and the engineering profession, for skillful mentoring and guidance serving multiple generations of undergraduate and graduate students, and for his vision of cooperation between university research reactors, creating the Western Nuclear Science Alliance which serves as a model for other regional consortia to follow." His efforts have expanded nuclear education opportunities.
Ahmed Badruzzaman
Badruzzaman's citation acknowledges his "outstanding contributions to the field of advanced radiation transport methods and their utilization to design nuclear well logging devices and develop their interpretation in complex reservoir conditions, his leadership in pushing nuclear logging research and development and for pro-actively passing his knowledge to others through his teaching." Demonstrating the versatility of nuclear applications, his work contributes to the identification and measurement of oil reserves.
ANS bestows the Fellow designation on members whose research, invention, or leadership has provided significant impact in one or more disciplines of nuclear science and engineering.
