FY2004 Energy and Water Appropriations Conference complete
Highlights of the bill include:
- $23.5 million for the University Reactor and Fuel Assistance program, an increase of $5 million over the budget request;
- $3 million for the Nuclear Energy Plant Optimization program;
- $11 million for the Nuclear Energy Research Initiative;
- $44 million for Nuclear Energy Technologies ($20 million for Nuclear Power 2010 and $24 million for Generation IV activities; of the $24 million for Gen. IV, $15 million is directed to be used to initiate the research, development and design work for the advanced reactor hydrogen co-generation project at the Idaho National Laboratory);
- $6.5 million for the nuclear hydrogen initiative;
- $68 million for the Advanced Fuel Cycle Initiative;
- $580 million for Nuclear Waste Disposal activities (Yucca Mountain);
