Amendment promised to strike new construction off energy bill

The comprehensive energy bill (S.14) will be considered over the upcoming weeks.

Expected schedule for consideration:
  • The Senate will return to consider the Energy bill at the end of next week.
  • It will continue consideration the week of May 19.
  • The Senate will be out of session the week of May 26 for the Memorial Day recess.
  • The Senate will resume consideration when it reconvenes the week of June 2.
Over 100 amendments have been filed. Democrat leaders have indicated they will likely offer an amendment to strike the portions of the bill related to new plant construction.
